Jul 26, 2010
  • Search for innovative solutions for connected work

  • Competition aimed at SME customers that develop pioneering and useful data solutions

  • Cash prize of EUR 10,000 waiting for the winner

Telekom is awarding its fifth Innovation Prize for SMEs this year: Germany's leading telecommunications provider is looking for forward-looking ideas to optimize business processes using broadband data communication. The subject this year is connected work; what's wanted are innovative solution concepts for mobile and fixed-network technologies to considerably simplify and accelerate business processes. This applies, in particular, for areas and sectors that have not yet benefited from digital networking and ideas can range from new uses for the iPhone, BlackBerry® Solution or netbooks to solutions for other devices and applications that intelligently and efficiently network work processes.

In order to provide SMEs with a suitable platform for presenting their solutions to a broad expert audience, the Innovation Prize will be awarded, as in previous years, at the "SME Innovation Forum." The event, which is organized by the renowned German Association for Small and Medium-Sized Businesses (BVMW), will take place on October 27, 2010 in Bonn.

The first prize waiting to be scooped up by those taking part in the competition is EUR 10,000. The winner will be chosen by a jury made up of independent experts. In addition, Telekom is awarding an audience prize worth EUR 5,000 this year; the winner will be chosen by the guests attending the Innovation Forum immediately before the awards ceremony out of the companies and solutions selected by the jury beforehand.

The competition is open to SMEs that develop an innovative solution under the motto "Connected Work." All that is required to take part is an informative presentation on the solution concept in data format (PowerPoint) and registration at www.telekom.de/gk/innovationspreis by August 31, 2010.
